Caregiver Hiring
How do we choose our caregivers? The answer is, "Very Carefully!"

Chosen for their experience, compassion, and dependability, each Help Unlimited caregiver must meet our very high standards before they can meet with you. Only caregivers we would select for our families will care for you.

To afford you the highest standards of safety, compatibility, skills, and peace of mind, our selection process includes personal interviews, skills and compatibility tests, and reference and criminal background checks. Because our screening process is so selective, only a small percentage of applicants qualify to become Help Unlimited caregivers.

Meeting Your Needs
At Help Unlimited, we want to exceed your expectations. Our Care Coordinators will listen to your needs and help find solutions to your unique situation. Because your relationship with your caregiver is important, you can always expect consistent scheduling when you choose Help Unlimited.

Hiring Options:
Help Unlimited allows you to choose the employment option that is best for you - either Help Unlimited as the employer, or our most effective option, you as the employer. With either option, you are guaranteed the support and experience of Help Unlimited's quality services.

Hiring Option #1 - Help Unlimited as the employer:
As the employer, Help Unlimited will make an initial home safety and care assessment, provide supervision of our staff, and update your care instructions on a regular basis. Help Unlimited will be responsible for handling all taxes, bonding, insurances including Worker's Compensation insurance, and payroll.

Hiring Option #2 - You as the Employer:
Our most cost effective option, Help Unlimited refers the caregiver to you and you are the employer. Our Care Coordinators will give you guidance regarding your responsibilities as an employer. As with Hiring Option #1, you interview and choose your caregiver.

This option allows your caregivers greater flexibility in the duties they can perform and results in significant savings. As the employer, you will be responsible for hiring, terminating and scheduling your caregivers. Employer payroll taxes, Worker's Compensation insurance, and other insurances must be provided. Your local Help Unlimited office can provide information and resources to help you become a responsible employer. Should your regular staff need time off replacement caregivers can be provided. Help Unlimited will charge a temporary referral fee for each caregiver you hire.

Note: If you choose to act as your own employer, Help Unlimited does not provide Care Consultant visits, safety evaluations, written care instructions and charting notebooks, or caregiver supervision.
